Fu’s Subcutaneous Needling (FSN)

What is FSN?

Fu’s Subcutaneous Needling (FSN) is a needle-based therapy targeting the subcutaneous layer—the area between the skin and muscle—to relieve pain and release trigger points. Unlike traditional needling techniques, FSN is minimally painful due to the unique insertion method and its placement in the subcutaneous layer, which has fewer nerve endings than deeper muscle layers.

How Does FSN Work?

FSN works by influencing fascia—specifically, the collagen and elastin fibers within it. Collagen fibers, abundant in the subcutaneous layer, respond well to FSN’s gentle manipulation, which releases trigger points effectively, even in deeper muscles such as the psoas or multifidus. Because fascia and muscle are so closely connected, FSN can produce powerful pain relief and improved movement.
